Save the date for Saturday, September 11, 2010. Tired of the heat? Then come to the beach and sign-up for one of our ski trips. Meet us at Melbourne Beach Hilton (clink link for map). Doors open at 7 pm. Remember to renew your membership early to avoid the line. Guests are welcome. $10 at the door; door fee can be applied to your membership fee if you join before leaving the Extravaganza.

U.S. MARKS SECOND BEST SKI SEASON

The National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) released a preliminary report indicating the U.S. ski industry recorded 59.7 million visits, its second best season ever! According to the NSAA study, all regions except the Northeast achieved substantial gains in total visits. The Pacific Southwest had a 15 percent increase in skier visits, and the Midwest and Southeast experienced gains of 7.2 percent and 6.7 percent. The Rocky Mountain region continued its dominant overall position in total visitation, increasing by 3.4 percent over last year, and again exceeding the 20 million visit threshold. The Pacific Northwest resorts rose from 2008-09, growing by 3.2 percent but the Northeastern resorts visits decreased by a projected 2.7 percent.
