Florida Ski Council Trip
This year’s trip to the Taos Ski Valley was a resounding
success. Twenty-nine of us enjoyed six beautiful days
of crystal clear blue skies, abundant snow, marvelous
skiing conditions and probably the best lessons being
taught in the U.S.
Everyone who skied took lessons, which were bargain priced at $90 for the ski
week. And, we all came away much better skiers for having taken the lessons! We stayed
on the mountain about 100 yards from the main chairlift at the Snakedance Condominiums.
Our host, Roger Mariani, manager of the Snakedance, could not have provided us
better treatment or hospitality. His entire staff (housekeeping/office/ski valets) were
courteous and thoughtful at all times.
Amongst our group were several non-skiers, who found the town of Taos and the surrounding
cultural attractions enchanting.
Tuesday evening we were invited to Roger’s home, where he and his delightful wife and
daughter prepared fantastic appetizers and a marvelous home cooked meal. Thursday
our Space Coast Ski Club sponsored another five course gourmet meal at the Snakedance
prepared by their Chef Craig. Exquisitely prepared dishes were paired with great wines during this event.
A great trip was capped with a stopover at the square in Santa Fe where
all had the chance to purchase turquoise, silver and artwork before heading back to the airport.
