Bariloche/Buenos Aires, Argentina

TIME TO CONQUER A NEW CONTINENT – ARGENTINA!!!

August 22, (out of Miami) through September 1, 2008

At long last, we have finalized the trip to Bariloche and Buenos Aires.  If you have ever wanted to ski South America or visit one of the most vibrant areas on this continent, join us for this adventure.  My Assistant Trip Leader is none other that our own, NORBERTO SCHECHTMANN a native of Argentina! Norberto is a guy who knows how to have a good time and with him showing us his homeland, we have a formula for plenty of fun!Norberto’s knowledge and presence is a bonus for all of us.  Below, Norberto has written a message to you in hopes he will convey an idea of what we can expect.

 Dear friends ...
We are getting closeeerrr to our exciting trip.
Few things for you to know these days of economic changes
In Argentina, the dollar rate is very GOOD for us, almost 3.3 pesos to the dollar
That means great eating and drinking…and great shopping.
I organized also a friend of mine to take the ladies to the leather factories, best shoes, boots and jackets. But the most important thing I will be there protecting our  interests, means, good music, fun, and exciting places to discover.
For the ones who like the nightlife, be prepared. …
 This is a unique opportunity.
 You miss, you loose
 Sincerely, Norberto

Bariloche / Buenos Aires Argentina

Florida Ski Council Trip
August 22, 2008 (Departure Friday evening) through September 1, (Arrive Miami 7am)

Join Space Coast Ski Club on a ski and travel adventure south of the boarder – way, way south to Patagonia! Bariloche is the biggest city in this part of Argentina and a large center for tourism.  Therefore, it is an excellent destination for both skiers and non-skiers.  Cerro Catedral lies only 12 miles and features more than 1600 acres of skiing.  Non-skiers will have many options around Bariloche including:

  • Half day tour to Enchanted Valley and Traful Village
  • Full day to Victoria Island or Full day La Angostura with Arrayan Woods
  • “Flight of the Condors” ride above the Forrest

Following our stay in Bariloche, we fly to Buenos Aires, the most European-like city outside of Europe.  Here, you will find a beautiful city with the widest boulevard in the world, shopping galore, cafes, and sights reminiscent of Paris with influences of Italian and Spanish architecture.  Buenos Aires offers much to see but if you want to get out the city, there are options.  How about a day with the Gaucho’s (Argentina Cowboys) or maybe a side trip to Uruguay only one hour away?  It is all possible in this diverse, saucy, vibrant, metropolis!

Argentina offers inexpensive “Churascos” (restaurants) with some of the finest beef in the world.  Pair this with the fabulous inexpensive wine and you will be eating steak on a hamburger budget! The shopping in Bariloche and Buenos Aires is endless because prices are insanely reasonable making your dollar (peso) go a long, long way.  Pair this with the skiing, sight seeing, a Tango lesson and Bariloche with Buenos Aires offers you a formula for a fantastic Argentina experienceThis trip promises to provide a ‘new horizon’ for all those who feel like they have seen it all!
