It was definitely HOT in Miami when seventy-seven (77) ladies from the Space Coast Ski Club arrived at Doral to enjoy the annual Ladies Only Weekend.  Doral put together a special menu of exercise classes for the group and called in extra staff to accommodate all the pampering spa treatments that these ladies scheduled.  Doral really knows how to treat us!

The caliente dance class is always at the top of our list of classes.  The music was pulsing and the movements were fast.  You have never seen people move like this!  The spinning classes were inspiring and the ExerBall classes kept us on our toes.  The yoga and Pilates classes stretched our tired muscles and strengthened our cores.  Some ladies enjoyed personal training sessions and nutritional lectures.

The party this year was a huge success.  Donna Entsminger, Barbara Belanger, Barbara Herndon & Ellen Duerr greeted everyone as they entered the social.  Margo Morrison provided nearly all of the door prizes and TJ Foell & Sandy McLoughlin ran the raffle for us.  Amanda Madl had two of her raffle tickets drawn for cash, and she picked up a $25 Target gift card as her door prize.   We were telling her to pick up a lottery ticket when she went out that night. 

Speaking of going out…..Karen Viollis, Susie Kendall, Cathy Carulli & Gloria Rossi used cab service to explore Miami; I think the concierge had a crush on them.  One group of 9 ladies found a fantastic Latin restaurant, received a private dining room and free pink champagne; only to find out that Arlene Morris’ car was towed as they dined.  Maybe she’ll use the valet next time!  Good friends Jeannie Staubus and Joann Amos helped her carload of ladies to the impound lot. 

There were a couple rooming issues and the AC was out for a few hours, but we were HOT anyway so it didn’t matter to us.  We took it in stride because we were there for a good time, to be with our friends and family.   The treatments were wonderful, as always, and ladies could be heard raving about their massages, facials, and Fango treatments.
